Rural Housing Partnership was formed after the founder wished to turn the tide on village decline and allow those who may have been forced to leave their childhood village due to high house prices, to remain.

Combined with a passion for rural areas and affordable housing, we believe that well designed and sympathetic affordable developments can be a lifeline for a village.

Rural areas face a more acute shortage of affordable housing but also have additional pressures. Detached homes dominate village markets and command premium rural prices and private rented housing is expensive and insecure.

Our sole focus is to deliver affordable homes for local people in rural communities.

We understand that many rural communities may feel powerless when speculative development offers little or no benefit to local people and their community. Local authorities allocate land for development in their local plans. Overall housebuilding continues but the supply of genuinely affordable homes is falling. The process can also feel top-down and public-sector led.  We are here to help change that.

We have in-house experience of rural exception schemes and building for housing associations in rural areas and have adopted a joined-up approach with landowners, parishes, communities, and housing associations to identify rural exception housing opportunities.

We accept there is no single 'one size fits all' method to delivering rural exception schemes.  We are here to complement existing partners and services to enhance the delivery of rural exception schemes.
